Humpty Dumpty the Macaron

January 06, 2015

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses
And all the king's men,
Ate up his macaron crumbs,
and drank down Champagne.

Sorry for the morbid nursery rhyme. Speaking of morbid, did you know that the original endings of most fairytales are gruesome. The children's versions have been adapted to be less horrific.

Cinderella's step sisters chop off parts of their feet in a bid to fit into the glass slipper. Snow white was poisoned by her biological mother, not her stepmother, and the prince became obsessed with Snow White's Corpse. Little mermaid kills the prince.

As grim as they may be, the stories seem to send a stronger message as compared to the children's version. But I understand why they have to be toned down as the originals most certainly would cause disturbing nightmares.

On a whole other note, I'll be launching a Valentine's Day macaron special. Stay tuned!
