Simple Breakfast Pancakes

January 03, 2015

Good morning! Ever have one of those days you just want a stack of fluffy pancakes, but you don't want to pay for an overpriced one in a cafe? Then here's a simple breakfast pancake recipe to start your day by one of my favourite YouTubers, Ochikeron

SIMPLE BREAKFAST PANCAKES
Adapted from: Ochikeron
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 20min
Servings: 6 pancakes

Ingredients:
[For Pancake batter]
Dry Ingredients:
• 100g cake flour
• 3 tbsp. sugar
• 1 tbsp. corn starch
• 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
• A pinch of salt

1 egg
100ml milk
1 tbsp. cooking oil

[For Dressing]
Chocolate Syrup
Fresh strawberries

Instructions:
1. Sift all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well with a whisk.
2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and add the milk. Mix it well.
3. Add the dry ingredients into the egg and milk mixture 1/3 at a time. Using a whisk, mix until it is fully combined.
4. Add cooking oil and mix again. *Please DO NOT mix it too much!
5. Cover with plastic wrap and leave it to set for 5 minutes.
6. Meanwhile, heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Place the pan on a wet towel to cool down the pan a little bit.
7. Turn the heat down to low, pour about 1/2 ladle of the batter onto the pan, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface.
8. Flip with a spatula, then cook for a minute until browned on the other side. Repeat the steps to complete the rest.
9. Pour chocolate syrup over the pancakes and top it with fresh strawberries!
