Halloween Pumpkin Cheesecake

October 22, 2014

Halloween is the perfect holiday to incorporate pumpkin into recipes. As a pumpkin lover, my belly is spooked with delight! Thus, for halloween this year, I made a pumpkin cheesecake following Cooking with Dog's recipe.

The cheesecake is smooth and velvety, with a subtle taste of pumpkin. As exotic as it may sound, this cheesecake is bound to appeal to most people' palettes because it's unique in a good way.

To decorate the cheesecake like a pumpkin, all you need is
  • Dark chocolate
  • White chocolate
  • Pink food coloring
  • Green tea kit-kat (for the pumpkin stalk)
  • Clear plastic/zip lock bags

Firstly, melt the dark chocolate and white chocolate in two separate bowls. You can do this over a water-bath (place a bowl over pot of boiling water). Alternatively, a lazy person like me would choose the easy and fuss-free way, which is to melt it using a microwave (600 watts, mix every 10 seconds until melted).

Pour the dark chocolate into a small plastic bag and tie it. Cut a small hole at the bottom, and viola~ you have made a chocolate pen!

Mix a bit of red food coloring into the white chocolate to make pink chocolate. Pour it into a plastic bag and cut a small hole. Now you have a pink choco pen! P.S. You can skip this step if you don't want to add blusher to your pumpkin haha.

Using the chocolate pens, draw your spookiest/cutest/wackiest pumpkin face on your cheesecake. I used the pink to give my pumpkin heart-shaped rosy cheeks!

Finally, break a kit-kat to form the stalk of your pumpkin. The end result is a cute pumpkin pumpkin cheesecake. Enjoy~
