4 Cute Halloween Macaron Designs

October 31, 2015

Happy Halloween! Here's some inspiration for your Halloween desserts, with 4 cute and spooky Halloween macaron designs - ghosts, zombie bears, Frankenstein's monster, and Cinderella's pumpkin carriages and pumpkins.

1. Ghost Macarons with "After Eight" Dark Chocolate and Peppermint Ganache
Boo! These adorable ghost macarons are filled with "After Eight" filling - dark chocolate and peppermint. If you enjoy minty desserts, then you'll freak out about these macarons~ Plus, they are incredibly simple to make, and you don't need to worry about being too precise about the shapes since ghosts don't exactly have a fixed form.

2. Zombie Bear Macarons with Dark Chocolate Ganache
Are you worried about a zombie apocalypse? Perhaps it wouldn't be as terrifying if they are cute zombie bears filled with decadent dark chocolate ganache. (Although I must admit real life zombie bears are ten times more horrifying than human zombies since bears are much faster and stronger than humans).

Recipe for Dark Chocolate Ganache
Ingredients
40g of Dark Chocolate Chips
40g Heavy Cream

Directions
1. Bring heavy cream to a boil.
2. Pour heavy cream over chocolate. Let it sit for 1 minute and stir with a whisk till all the chocolate has melted. Let it cool.
3. Transfer the filling to a piping bag and pipe between two macaron shells.

3. Frankenstein's Monster Macarons with Matcha Green Tea Ganache
Frankenstein's monster was created by Victor Frankenstein, who built the creature in his laboratory through an ambiguous method consisting of chemistry and alchemy. In the story, the monster tries to fit into society but is shunned; In my kitchen, these Frankenstein's monster macarons with Matcha green tea ganache happily fits into my belly.

4. Cinderella-themed Macarons with Pumpkin Spice Ganache
Are you a fan of Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice latte? If so, you'll fall in love with this fall recipe - Pumpkin Spice Macarons inspired by Cinderella's pumpkin carriage! I also made regular pumpkins and the symbolic clock that struck at midnight that turned Cinderella's carriage into a pumpkin.
